Bharat Gaurav Train covering Ambedkar circuit launched today, ET TravelWorld News, ET TravelWorld

On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti today, the Ministry of Tourism in association with IRCTC launched the first tour on the Ambedkar circuit.

The special Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train will be on an eight-day tour starting today from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station with visits covering the important places associated with the life of Baba Saheb Ambedkar including New Delhi, Mhow, Nagpur and Buddhist sites like Sanchi, Sarnath, Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda.

The train, flagged off by G Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture and DONER, along with other ministers, has AC III-tier passenger coaches and will accommodate a total of around 600 tourists.

The Minister said that the train aims to promote domestic tourism and the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.He also informed that government has developed the sites related to Babasaheb Ambedkar not only in India but also in London.

To popularise this special initiative, a group of stakeholders including tour operators, tour guides, journalists, Buddhist associations, Gautam Buddha University members and Yuva Tourism Club members, have been invited for a first-hand experience of this specially organised trip.

Starting today, the tourist train will move first to New Delhi Railway Station and tourists will be taken for the visit to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Memorial by buses. Further tourists will board the train and will depart to its next stop at Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow), the birthplace of Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

The Vande Bharat service launched from Bhopal would benefit professionals and traders and make their travel to Delhi easy, while it will boost tourism and employment generation through increase in footfalls at Sanchi, Bhimbetka, Bhojpur and Udayagiri caves, the prime minister said. This is the 11th Vande Bharat Express service on the Indian Railway network and will run on all days except Saturday.

The train will then move to Nagpur railway station where tourists proceed to visit Deekshabhoomi and will be followed by visits to Sanchi stupa, Varanasi, Sarnath, Kashi Vishwanath Temple before arriving in Gaya which is the last destination.

Tourists will have options to board/deboard the train at Delhi, Mathura and Agra Cantt. stations during the journey. The tourist train is fitted with a well-equipped pantry car for rustling up freshly made vegetarian meals for the tourists. The train also has an infotainment system and security features like CCTV cameras and security guard services.

All necessary health precautionary measures are being taken care of, according to IRCTC. At a price range starting from INR 21,650 per person, the IRCTC tourist train will be an all-inclusive eight-day tour package covering the special train journey.

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is an excellent initiative to promote domestic tourism. With the current focus on exploring local destinations, this tour circuit is a perfect opportunity for tourists to experience the rich cultural and historical heritage associated with Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s life, the ministry said.
